Why make the move to Echuca?

April 2017 In Home Buyers Advice

Why

Set on the banks on the beautiful Murray River in the heart of the famed Loddon Mallee Region in northern Victoria, Echuca offers an idyllic lifestyle in a warm and sunny climate. With a growing economy and a range of employment opportunities, it’s no wonder so many others are deciding to make the move to Echuca.

Since originally achieving fame in the mid-1800’s as one of Australia’s busiest inland ports using paddle steamers to ferry goods throughout the river network, the Echuca of today has evolved to focus on manufacturing, retail, health, construction, agriculture and tourism as its main industries.

While some of the smaller towns in Regional Victoria have seen a decline in population in recent times, this has not been the case for Echuca, which has instead experienced sustained population growth largely due to its tourism appeal.

The Loddon Mallee tourism industry alone, contributes more than $1.2 billion to the Victorian economy and provides over 7,000 jobs throughout the region. The region is also tipped to continue to see employment growth in other industries in response to new development, including the new Product Innovation Science Lab Centre which was opened in Echuca in January of this year.

It offers an enviable lifestyle
