We understand it takes more than bricks and mortar to build a happy home. Sometimes it takes some empathy and a little more practical help when needed.
Charity Home Auctions
Dennis Family Homes has built numerous homes for charity auctions across Victoria and southern New South Wales, raising more than $600,000 for various not-for-profit organisations in Albury, Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton, Kilmore and Melbourne.
Funds raised by these charity home auctions have helped support:
- Legacy (Melbourne and Bendigo)
- Leukaemia Foundation of Victoria
- Moira Kelly's Children First Foundation
- Friedreich Ataxia Research Association
- Chances for Children
- Make A Wish Foundation
- Heart Kids (Bendigo)
- Goulburn Valley Community Care (Shepparton)
- Continuing Education Centre (Albury)
- Mercy Hospital (Wodonga)
Long Term Partnerships
Legacy
The Dennis family strongly supports Legacy through financial donations. Bert Dennis was a junior legatee in his youth and is closely connected to the cause.
Legacy provides welfare support to widows, children and disabled dependants of Australia's veterans who served their country in war or peacekeeping operations and who died in service or subsequently.
Leukaemia Foundation of Victoria
Bert Dennis was a director of the Leukaemia Foundation of Victoria and Chairman of their Accommodation Committee which identifies homes close to hospitals that can house families in need of support.
Children First Foundation
For the past 20 years Moira Kelly's mission has been to assist with the physical, mental and emotional recovery of children orphaned, maimed or traumatised by war, neglect, abuse, poverty or political turmoil.
Moira's Children First Foundation hosts children from around the world at her farm outside Kilmore. The children have a restful and loving environment in which to prepare for major surgery in Melbourne, or recuperate from recent operations.
DOXA Youth Foundation
Dennis Family is committed to ongoing training and development programs and as part of this, the corporation also supports secondary-educated graduate trainees through the DOXA Youth Foundation's Cadetship Program.
This program assists talented youth from diverse backgrounds who may experience difficulty furthering their studies at university as a result of personal circumstances.
